Brandon Cobb is a third-year law student at Lewis & Clark Law School, where he will soon receive a J.D. with a certificate in Environmental and Natural Resource Law. Brandon is joining Trustees for Alaska for the fall semester as an extern—gaining on-the-job legal skills while also earning school credits. Prior to coming to Trustees, he worked for the Oregon Department of Justice as well as the Northwest Environmental Defense Center. Before law school, Brandon earned a B.S. in Political Science and History at Portland State University while focusing on environmental sustainability, science, history, and ethics. He also spent three years at a cooperative restaurant on campus at PSU where he focused on food-system sustainability.

Brandon was excited to join the team at Trustees after hearing stellar reviews from prior interns. This fall, he hopes to learn more about the environmental issues affecting Alaska and the legal tools that are available to public interest lawyers working to protect our remaining wild places. He is also excited for the opportunity to explore the Chugach Mountains in the sun, rain, and eventually the snow. As a first-timer in Alaska, Brandon is already awestricken by both the quality and quantity of wilderness and wildlife in the state, making him even more motivated to support Trustees for Alaska and its mission of protecting Alaska’s environment for future generations.
